Township Clean-up Day

Assessor

Colfax Township's taxpayers with assessment questions can find the Assessor's contact information on the Township Board page. The Assessor will annually visit approximately 20% of the properties in the township to verify the accuracy of assessment records, as required by the State of Michigan. He/she will be wearing an identification badge while performing his/her duties. The township board appreciates your cooperation when it comes time for him/her to visit your property.

Recycling / Collections

Collections

The Benzie County's Materials Management Department is committed to environmental health through recycling opportunities, household hazardous waste collections, and electronic equipment collections, and educational programs. The Materials Management Department provides alternatives to residents and businesses to properly dispose of solid waste and keep it out of the landfill whenever possible. See their Web page for details about Residential Household Hazardous Waste Collections, Electronics Collections, and Scrap Tire Collections.

Thompsonville Recycling Sites

For folks near Thompsonville, there is a recycling site located at the D.P.W. Maintenance Building on CR-669 (Michigan Avenue) just north of Lincoln Road (Lindy Road) in the Village of Thompsonville.  It is well lit and equipped with a security camera. Be sure to never leave trash or construction material in a bin or on the ground — this is considered illegal dumping and violators will be prosecuted.

for additional recycling sites throughout Benzie County, see the
Benzie County's Materials Management Department page.
